The Programme for a Partnership Government (2016) and the launch of a public consultation on tackling the gender pay gap (2017)
In May 2016, The Programme for a Partnership Government featured commitments to:
– Reduce the gender pay gap
– Increase investment in childcare
– Review the lower pay of women
– Review gender equality for Senior Appointments
– Promote wage transparency
In August 2017, the Minister for Justice and Equality and the Minister of State for Equality, Immigration and Integration, launched a public consultation on reducing the gender pay gap. The launch was concluded in October 2017 and the response was published.
