European Institute for Gender Equality
The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is an EU body that focuses on gender equality, in and outside of the EU. The Gender Equality Index for the EU was 67.9 in 2020, while in the 2015 it was 65.0. Therefore, because the Index is slowly increasing, the main principle of EIGE is that everyone, despite gender, should have the same and equal opportunities to live a high quality life, free of discrimination, with equal access to education, the labour market, and social benefits. Anyone who is interested can access a variety of resources, publications, good practices, educational videos, tools, strategies and methodologies on the website to learn about gender mainstreaming, gender equality and achieving the principles.
