Campaign to promote Gender Equality in the EU
The European Commission will be launching a strategic campaign over the years of 2020 – 2025, in order to promote Gender Equality throughout its member countries,which is highly adapted to Greek standards as well. The campaign aims to combat the violent and sexual harassment of women by men, eliminate gender stereotypes, ensure that women will receive equal salaries, promote Gender Equality in decision-making, and increase the participation of women in the labor market. According to the European Commission, women receive 16% less income than men and 30.1% less pension. Only 67% of women are working in the labor market in comparison to 78% of men, while in the sectors of Artificial Intelligence and administrative positions that gap is significantly higher.
